Wastewater Treatment Plant let out for bid
On October 8th 1999, the township opened bids for the proposed 113,000 gallons per day treatment plant. The facility will be located on ten acres along Branch Road approximately 700 feet west of Callowhill Road.
Design and construction costs of the plant will be borne through fees collected from the developers. On the site will be built a 46' x 33' foot control building. Under Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regulations the township will have two licensed operators responsible for the plant.
The facility will be electronically monitored 24 hours a day and physically attended a minimum of twice a day, seven days a week. At additional expense, to minimize odor, the facility will be fully enclosed and have odor control devices.
Once constructed, the plant will provide 411 connections. Of those connections, 250 are currently existing and will be directed to the new facility from the Pennridge Wastewater Treatment Facility. The goal of the facility is to be able to control sewer capacity to assist control of development growth. |
