Park and Recreation Board receives input from residents through township survey
The spring newsletter served as a township sponsored survey. A total of 1,214 surveys were mailed to households within the township, a total of 86 completed surveys were returned or just over a 7% response rate.
57% of the respondents have lived in the township greater than 10 years. The largest age category is the 36 to 50 years of age range. Greater than 63% have family incomes over $50,000.00. Of the 16 activities that families participate in, the top five are; bicycling, picnics, playgrounds, golf, and swimming respectively.
With regard to the township sponsored community day, 50% have never attended and only 18% have attended yearly.
Of the 18 family recreational facilities needed, the top five were walking, nature trails, bicycling, picnics and playground.
Of the 86 responses, 31% indicated participation in organizations. Of the 31%, the Yellowjackets Soccer received a 39% participation rate followed by the Pennridge little league at 25%, the Greenjackets football with an 18% participation rate.
72 of the responses indicated the newsletter was useful with the remainder indicating no opinion. Greater than 65% of the respondents have access to the Internet,. Just over 50% indicated possible use of a township web site.
Greater than 77% expressed satisfaction with the park facilities and greater than 65% are satisfied with activities provided, with 7% indicating dissatisfaction (6 responses) with the facilities, and 5.5% indicating a dissatisfaction (4 responses) with the activities. 22 offered no opinion. |
