Bucks County Community College Opens Full-Service Upper County Campus

On September 7th, 1999 the Bucks County Community College opened a second full-service campus to serve the Upper Bucks County region.  The campus is located on a 14 acre site of the former First Union Bank Center at One Hillendale Drive just off of Fifth Street behind the Glenwood Shopping Center within East Rockhill Township.

The College was originally established in 1964, and is a public, accredited, two-year, post-secondary institution sponsored by the Bucks County Commissioners.  The original campus is located in the Newtown area of Bucks County.  Although the College has offered course work through various high schools and other locations in the County, the Upper County Campus will be the official second campus for the school.

The facility offers lecture and seminar classrooms, interactive video conferencing facility, computer labs, student and activity areas, business and community meeting rooms, faculty and advising offices, electronic library and a vendeteria.

Situated along the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek adjacent to the Mood's Covered Bridge, the esthetics of the area will provide a true campus setting.

Course offerings at the new facility will include Academic Associate Degree programs in Business Administration, Education and Liberal Arts-General Emphasis.  The fall 1999 continuing education programs offered include certificate programs, professional and business training, health and fitness, children's programs, 55+ for Seniors, SAT/PSAT preparation and computer training.
