Pennridge Area Greenway Plan earns "Outstanding Planning Award” for Plan
In April of this year the Pennridge Area Coordinating Committee (PACC) completed the Pennridge Area Greenway Plan.
The PACC is an official but informal group consisting of the eight municipalities within the Pennridge School District, the Pennnridge Chamber of Commerce, Pennridge School District and Bucks County Community College. The committee began meeting in 1997 with the goal of creating dialogue within the Pennridge area. Through discussions, the committee has identified some common topics of concern.
The topic receiving the most initial attention was planning and preserving open space. In response, the committee contracted with the Bucks County Planning Commission with partial funding from the Governor's Center for Local Government Services to create a comprehensive Pennridge Area Greenway Plan. It is hoped this document will serve as a planning tool for each municipality to use, creating connected systems of paths, corridors and open space areas within the Pennnridge Region. |
