Walking Path Named for Mervin C. Bryan

 

On October 14th, the walking path along the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek will be named after the late Mervin C. Bryan. Mr. Bryan, born in 1939, was raised on the family farm which is now the Cedarbrook Crossing and Pines II & III development.

 

Merv was a star running back and track team member at Pennridge High School. Following high school he became a National Guard member, graduated from West Chester University and then taught at the high school from 1961 until retirement in 1995. Merv also coached track, football and soccer over the years.

 

Merv and his wife Nancy, have two children, Michael and LeeAnn (Rumpf), and five cherished grandchildren. As an avid runner he participated in seven Boston Marathons. In 1999 he passed away while running in an event.
