Open Space and Land Preservation Efforts Yield over 333 Acres since 1987
The 1987 East Rockhill Township Comprehensive Plan reported no Township owned open space or recreational facilities present within the township. Since the adoption of the Plan, the Township has aggressively worked toward reversing the situation. With the latest purchase of the 50.4 acre Moyer Tract on Three Mile Run Road, and the planned dedication of 49.12 acres (area in blue) from the Country Hunt Subdivision on Branch Road, the open space and recreational areas in the Township will exceed 333 acres. The East Rockhill Open Space Plan adopted in 1998, identified uses of the open space areas based on location and suitability. Areas well suited for general recreation are available for active recreation and the more wooded and environmentally sensitive areas are slated for passive uses. |
