Upper Bucks County Police Finger Printing and Photo Center to Open at the New Substation

Funded by a matching grant, the police departments in Upper Bucks County have raised $13,500.00 for the operation of a temporary joint computerized fingerprinting and photo identification center.

The center located at the new fire substation building to the rear of the municipal building on Ridge Road, will house the facility to utilize the LiveScan TenPrinter Fingerprint Computer and the Commonwealth Photo Imaging Network Systems.

Upon apprehension, the suspect  will be brought to the facility by the respective police department or Pennsylvania State police. At the facility, the individual will be finger printed and  photographed. The finger print and photo will be instantly processed through the national and international computer data systems to identify the individual against any outstanding warrants.

The Township was selected  because of central location. In support of the facility, East Rockhill Township along with West Rockhill Township has agreed to share the cost of interior construction.

It is anticipated the temporary facility will be used for approximately three years, at which time it will be relocated to a permanent police facility, the location of which has not been determined.

The participating police departments are,  Bedminster Township, Dublin Borough, Hilltown Township, Pennridge Regional Police, Perkasie Borough, Richland Township, Springfield Township, Tinicum Township and Quakertown Borough.
