Pennridge Area Drinking Water Protection Public Seminar
The Bucks County Planning Commission is sponsoring an informational seminar on how the public can help protect their community’s water supplies. Attendees will learn about the Department of Environmental Protection’s Source Water Assessment Program and how some municipalities have already put wellhead protection programs into operation. The objective of the seminar is to encourage active and informed public participation in upcoming Source Water Protection Programs in the Pennridge Area and to find ways that citizens can work with local officials to protect their water supplies. Source water protection experts will be present to provide information and answer questions. The seminar is open to any interested parties.
The free seminar will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2003, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, at the Upper County Campus of the Bucks County Community College in Perkasie. The college is located near the intersection of Fifth Street and Blooming Glen Road behind the Glenwood Shopping Center.
The seminar is being funded, in part, by a Water Resources Education Network (WREN) grant from the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania, Citizen Education Fund, under a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. For more information, to have a brochure sent to you, or to register for the seminar, please contact the Bucks County Planning Commission at (215) 345-3884. Walk-in registrations will be taken the day of the seminar, but space is limited and pre-registration is recommended. |
