Township Receives Community Development Block Grant for Comprehensive Plan Update

East Rockhill Township was awarded a $20,000.00 grant to update the Township’s Comprehensive Plan. The funding is through the Bucks County Community Development Blocks Grant Program.

Last updated in 1987, the Plan, under the terms of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, functions as a planning tool to evaluate the current land uses and resources, and evaluate future population projections, resources, and needs to provide a “vision” or future direction for such areas as housing, industry, business, agriculture, traffic, utilities, parks and community facilities.

The zoning and subdivision ordinances will be compatible with the Comprehensive Plan, once completed. To accomplish this planning task the Bucks County Planning Commission has been contracted to provide planning services. In addition, a steering committee has been formed to assist in the process. Once compiled into a working draft form, the plan will be presented on numerous occasions for public presentations and comments.

Residents interested in participating in the planning process are encouraged to contact the township office to remain apprised of the meeting schedules. In addition drafts of the documents will also be made available on the township’s web site at www.EastRockhillTownship.org
