Kathy Percetti Appointed Tax Collector

On, June 11, 2002, Township resident Kathleen Percetti was appointed by the Board of Supervisors to the position of Tax Collector. In November of 2001 Patricia Paul was elected to the position, following the retirement of Robert “Bob” Schuler. Shortly after beginning her duties, Patricia’s husband was transferred to New York State with his position in the military, Pat resigned effective May 30, 2002. Because Kathleen had been an interested candidate before Pat’s election she was offered and accepted the position.

Kathy and her family have lived in East Rockhill Township since 1990. Kathy graduated from LaSalle University with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems. She has two years of public accounting experience and 11 years as a controller of a small business. After taking a training course given by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, she successfully passed the new state examination. Kathleen is now a Qualified Tax Collector in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Because Kathy was appointed to the an unfulfilled term, she must run for election beginning in the May primary of this year and the general election in November.

Similar to her predecessors, Kathy maintains an office in her home at 2037 Hill Road. For the year 2003, Kathy reports all county and township tax bills have been mailed as of March 1, 2003. The bills are due April 30, 2003 if taxpayers wish to take advantage of the 2% discount. The face or full amount is due by June 30, 2003 and beginning July 1, 2003 a penalty of 10% will be added. If your mortgage company escrows your taxes, Kathy suggests you call her at 215-453-8866 to verify payment. In addition, she reminds taxpayers who do not escrow taxes to contact her if a bill has not been received. Lastly, Kathy recently installed a white mailbox on the front of her garage to assist residents who wish to drop off their bills.
