Sentencing In Arson Of Mood’s Covered Bridge

 

Each individual involved has been equally sentenced as follows:

 

18 days to 23 months in county prison, starting immediately.

$66,666 restitution.

1,000 hours community service.

5 years probation.

Date of Incident: June 22, 2004 @ 3:30 am

Location: Mood’s Covered Bridge, Blooming Glen Road, East Rockhill Township

 

Individuals Involved:

 

1) Vincent Stout Jr., w/m, 20 years old, Route 313, Perkasie, PA.  18944

 

2) Joseph Boland, w/m, 20 years old, Stone Edge Road, Sellersville, PA  18960

 

3) Benjamin Recenes, w/m, 20 years old, West Rock Road, Perkasie, PA

 

4) Daniel Weidner, w/m, 21 years old, Bridgeview Drive, Perkasie PA

 

5) Kevin Horoff, w/m, 20 years old, Hill Road, Perkasie, PA

 

6) Joshua Naso, w/m, 20 years old, South 9th Street, Perkasie

 

Charges: Arson, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Mischief

 

Summary: Pennridge Regional Police file charges in the arson fire to the Mood's Covered Bridge.  On Tuesday 6/22/04 at 3:30 am the Mood's Covered Bridge was completely destroyed by fire.  Preliminary investigation by the Bucks County Fire Marshall indicated that the fire was caused by arson.  This was subsequently confirmed by the PA State Police Laboratory.  It was found that gasoline was used as an accelerant.

 

Police followed up on numerous tips from the community which eventually led to the arrest of the subjects listed above.  All involved admitted to the fire.  They will turn themselves in today (8/18/04) at 3:00 pm at District Court in Perkasie (705 West Market Street, Perkasie, PA, District Justice Dietrich).

Mood’s Covered Bridge

Will be rebuilt.  County has taken ownership.
