Homestead/Exclusion Reduction
on the School Real Estate Bill

November 2008

Please make sure to check your school real estate tax bill for the year 2008-2009 to make sure that you received the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion if you were eligible. The Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion reduction is in the top right-hand corner in the green box. If the property is your primary residence, you may be eligible to receive a reduction in your school tax bill as part of the Pennsylvania Taxpayer Relief Act. This past year’s reduction amount was $213.61. This amount changes each year based on a calculation tied into the gambling revenue.

Eligibility not only offers the reduction, but it also allows you to pay your school bill in installments. The first installment is due August 15 and the remaining two are due October 15 and December 15. In order to be eligible in 2009-2010 you must submit the application by March 1, 2009, to the Bucks County Board of Assessment.

If you do not see this reduction on your bill and you believe you are eligible, you can download the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion Form and Instructions on the Board of Assessment page on the Bucks County Web site.

You may also contact Tax Collector Kathleen Percetti at 215-453-8866 or e-mail her at eastrockhilltax@comcast.net if you have questions or need an application.
