Public Works Director Steve Funk Retires
December 2009
After over 31 years of service as a dedicated member of the East Rockhill Township Highway Department and as Public Works Director, Steve Funk is retiring. Steve developed the Township's Highway Maintenance Program, and helped grow the team from a one-man operation to 5 employees at its peak. Steve was instrumental in the construction of the East Rockhill Township Waste Water Treatment Plant, the expansion of the public sewer facilities, and worked on the development of the Township's parks and trail system. In this new chapter of his life, Steve is looking forward to being able to sit back and enjoy the snow falling for the first time in over 3 decades. Steve is most proud of the crew he worked with over the years, the Township's reputation for superior public service, and the winter maintenance expertise they achieved. East Rockhill Township is grateful for Steve's years of service and wishes him a happy and healthy retirement.
Current Assistant Public Works Director, Jeff Scholl, has accepted the position as the new Public Works Director. The Township has great confidence in Jeff’s ability to lead the department during this time of economic uncertainty.
